Ingredients

The following ingredients have 10 Servings
  • 2 2/3 C flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tsp ground ginger
  • 3 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 C unsalted sweet cream butter (softened)
  • 1 C light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 C molasses
  • 1 C hot water
  • 1 C powder sugar
  • 2 tbsp whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instruction

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • spray loaf pan with pam spray and set aside
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, all spice and salt
  • Use a whisk and mix until combined
  • In a standing mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar until combined
  • Mix in the eggs and vanilla until combined
  • In a medium bowl, combine the hot water and molasses and mix until combined.
  • Pour molasses mix into the wet ingredients in the standing mixer and mix until combined
  • gradually pour in the dry ingredients into the mixer and continue to mix until combined
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake in the oven for 60 minuets or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Place onto a wire rack to cool to room temperature about 45 minuets
  • In a medium bowl, combine the powder sugar, milk and tsp cinnamon and whisk until combined
  • Take loaf out of loaf baking dish
  • Pour then cinnamon glaze over the loaf and let harden for 10 minuets before cutting.
