Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (105-110 degrees F)
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup salted butter (softened)
- 1-2 Tablespoons garlic bread seasoning (see notes)
Instruction
- Mix water, yeast, sugar, and salt with 1 cup of the flour in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment.
- Add more flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition until the dough cleans the sides of the bowl on its own. You may not need all of the flour.
- Knead for 3-4 minutes, then lift the dough out of the bowl and lightly grease the bowl. Return the dough to the bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a clean cloth and let rise for 30-45 minutes, until double in size.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it evenly into 12 equal-sized piece of dough. Shape each knot by rolling one piece of dough into a rope, then tie a knot and tuck the ends into the center of the knot. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray and repeat with remaining dough.
- Cover the knots loosely with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let rise while the oven preheats to 400 degrees F.
- Bake knots for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Immediately brush the hot knots with melted butter, then sprinkle with the garlic bread sprinkle. These are best served hot and fresh.
