Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp butter (soft at room temperature)
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- Little less than 1 tbsp instant yeast (or 1 tbsp active Dry yeast)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 2 tbsp oil
Instruction
- First of all we need to make the bread dough, for that take the flour in a big mixing bowl and add yeast, sugar and salt to it and mix properly(if you are using Active Dry yeast, first activate the yeast in warm water with some sugar)
- Add 1 tbsp butter to warm milk so it melts, Now add the butter and milk mixture to flour and start kneading
- Add water to adjust the dough. It will be a smooth soft dough. Knead it for 5-7 minutes to develop gluten
- Now add 1 tbsp oil to the dough and knead again for 2 minutes, the dough will become even more smooth
- It’s the time for dough to rest in a deep greased vessel for first proofing. Rest it for 1 hour or till the dough is doubled
- In the mean time take 1/4 cup soft butter and add garlic paste and Coriander to it and mix well, keep aside
- When the dough is doubled, knock out the air from the dough with your fingers and take it on a flour dusted surface and roll into a rectangular shape, 1/4 inch in thickness
- Apply garlic and Coriander butter on the dough rectangle generously, reserve some butter for later use
- Spread grated cheese on the whole rectangle and sprinkle some salt and pepper
- Now roll the dough like a Swiss roll and join both the ends together to make a circle, then make some equidistant cuts in the dough circle
- Gently lift the bread dough circle and put it on greased quarter plate(or pie pan, I have used a steel quarter plate), Brush it with the reserved butter and keep to rest again for 15 minutes
- Turn on your oven at 200 degrees for preheating then bake the bread at 200 degrees for 18-22 minutes on middle rack till you see the golden crust. Brush some more butter after taking out from oven
