Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 4 slices bread
- 3 cups grated cheese (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Gruyere )
Instruction
- Melt the butter then add the crushed garlic and dried oregano. Set aside.
- Grate the cheese and mix to combine. Slice the bread into thick slices.
- Distribute the cheese between half of the slices of bread then sandwich with the remaining pieces of bread.
- Brush the outside of the bread liberally with the garlic butter.
- In a large pan, skillet or griddle set over medium heat, cook the sandwiches butter side down. I like covering the pan with a lid to allow the cheese to melt faster. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on the one side.
- Brush the other side with the remaining garlic butter then gently flip over and cook for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown on both sides with the cheese completely melted inside.
- Remove from the pan, allow to rest for 1 minute then slice and serve.
