  • 4 - 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream (or whole milk)
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instruction

  • To make these Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars, preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9 x 13 pan by lining it with parchment paper with enough to hang over the sides.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese until creamy. Mix in the sugar, egg and egg yolk and then your vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Add the flour mixture slowly to the butter mixture and mix until fully combined.
  • Spoon (glop!) the batter into the prepared pan and using the back of a spoon .. or your hands.. press into the pan until even and bake for 16 - 18 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool COMPLETELY!!
  • To make the buttercream frosting, cream together butter, sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt and cream together. Divide the buttercream frosting into three smaller bowls and stir in a few drops of differnt color food coloring to each bowl. Remove your Sugar Cookie Bars from the pan by lifting up the parchment paper and drop dollops of the different colored frosting on top of the Sugar Cookie Bars. Lightly swirl the colors together until your whole Sugar Cookie Bars is frosted. Cut and serve.
