Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 6 Tablespoon Butter
- ¾ cup Flour
- ¾ cup plus 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¾ cup Milk
- ¼ teaspoon Almond Extract ((optional))
- 2 cups Fresh Peaches ((peeled, pit removed, sliced))
Instruction
- Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put butter in 8-inch square baking dish or 8-10-inch cast iron skillet. Set in oven to melt.
- In small bowl, whisk together flour, ¾ cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and almond extract. Whisk gently, until just incorporated into dry ingredients. Don’t over mix!
- When butter has melted, remove pan from oven. Pour batter into pan, without stirring it into butter, then arrange fruit over the batter.
- Sprinkle fruit with remaining Tablespoon of sugar.
- Bake until batter browns, about 40 to 50 minutes.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
