Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 loaf hearty white bread
  • 4 eggs; beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter/oil/cooking spray
  • Strawberry coulis

Instruction

  • Heat a griddle to medium a medium heat. Once heated, apply a bit of butter, oil, or cooking spray.
  • While the griddle is heating up, beat the eggs and milk together. Add the vanilla, nutmeg, sugar, and salt. Whisk all the ingredients together.
  • Dip a slice of bread in the egg mixture, allowing the bread to thoroughly soak up the liquid. Flip and repeat.
  • Place the bread on the heated and greased griddle.
  • Leave it for about three minutes or until cooked on that side.
  • Flip and allow them to finish cooking, about two minutes.
  • Time is based on my griddle heat and temperature.
  • Adjust for your own appliance, as each is different.
  • Plate the French toast and top as desired.
  • Butter, strawberry coulis, and powdered sugar is sure delicious!
