Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 1/4 cup Fireball Whiskey
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 5 large Honeycrisp apples (cut into chunks)
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 box spice cake mix
- 1 stick butter (melted)
Instruction
- In a large pot over high heat whisk together 1 cup of the the Fireball Whiskey, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, add the apple chunks and stir. When it comes back up to a boil, reduce the heat to medium low.
- Cook this mixture, stirring occasionally for 12 minutes.
- In a small bowl mix together the remaining 1/4 cup of the Fireball and the cornstarch. Bring the apples back up to a boil, add the cornstarch and Fireball mixture. Boil and stir for 2 minutes to thicken.
- Pour the apple mixture into a 9 x 13 dish.
- Mix the dry spice cake mix and the melted butter together. Crumble over top of the apple mixture.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes.
