Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion (diced finely)
  • 1 medium head of cabbage (sliced into thin strips)
  • 3 medium carrots (peeled into strips with a potato peeler)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (*optional ingredient)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (*about 4 garlic cloves)
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce (*reduced sodium)
  • 2-3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instruction

  • Cook ground beef over medium heat in the largest skillet you have available until the meat is no longer pink. Drain grease and return ground beef to pan.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic and stir well. Continue to cook over medium heat until the onions are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add 2 tbsp sesame oil, carrots, and cabbage to the skillet and stir well to combine. Let cook for 10 minutes while stirring often.
  • In a small separate bowl combine onion powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (optional), ground ginger, soy sauce, and vegetable oil. Use a whisk to combine.
  • Pour sauce mixture over meat and cabbage mixture. Reduce heat to medium low and continue to cook for 5-10 minutes while stirring often until your carrots and cabbage are tender.
  • Serve and enjoy!
