Ingredients
The following ingredients have 6 Servings
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion (diced finely)
- 1 medium head of cabbage (sliced into thin strips)
- 3 medium carrots (peeled into strips with a potato peeler)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (*optional ingredient)
- 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp minced garlic (*about 4 garlic cloves)
- 3/4 cup soy sauce (*reduced sodium)
- 2-3 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instruction
- Cook ground beef over medium heat in the largest skillet you have available until the meat is no longer pink. Drain grease and return ground beef to pan.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic and stir well. Continue to cook over medium heat until the onions are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add 2 tbsp sesame oil, carrots, and cabbage to the skillet and stir well to combine. Let cook for 10 minutes while stirring often.
- In a small separate bowl combine onion powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (optional), ground ginger, soy sauce, and vegetable oil. Use a whisk to combine.
- Pour sauce mixture over meat and cabbage mixture. Reduce heat to medium low and continue to cook for 5-10 minutes while stirring often until your carrots and cabbage are tender.
