Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cup 1% low-fat milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground white pepper
  • pinch dried thyme
  • pinch ground nutmeg

Instruction

  • Place a medium sized saucepan over low heat.
  • In the saucepan, add butter to melt.
  • Whisk in flour.
  • Whisk in milk a little at a time, whisking constantly.
  • When mixture is smooth, add salt, ground white pepper, nutmeg, and thyme. Stir to mix well.
  • Reduce heat to low, and simmer whisking continuously, approximately 10 minutes or until until thickened.
