The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 3 lbs pork shoulder/butt (or use boneless skinless chicken thighs)
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 Tbsp cooking wine
  • 5 cloves garlic (finely grated)
  • 5 shallots (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 4 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
  • 1 Tbsp red-yeast rice powder (optional- to give the red colors)
  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar (or more for sweeter taste)
  • 2 Tbsp water
