Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 3 chicken breasts (diced into approximately 2" pieces)
- 16 oz Linguine
- 1/4 Cup Butter (Divided Evenly)
- 2 cups of mushrooms (sliced)
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2/3 cup parmesan cheese (shredded)
Instruction
- Cook the linguine based on the package instructions. Drain and save some of the pasta water.
- In a large skillet, melt 1/2 of the butter amount over medium heat.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until they are tender (approximately 5 minutes).
- Next add in the chicken, minced garlic, salt and pepper.
- Cook over medium heat until the chicken is golden brown on all sides stirring occasionally (approximately 6-7 minutes).
- Remove the chicken and mushrooms from the pan to a separate dish. Leave any remaining sauce in the large skillet.
- Then over medium heat, melt the remaining butter in the large skillet.
- Whisk in the flour until thoroughly combined.
- Then whisk in the broth and heavy whipping cream adding them each slowly.
- Then cook the sauce until it thickens, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Toss in the pasta, chicken and mushrooms to combine. Add some of the pasta water if needed to thoroughly combine.
- Top with the parmesan cheese, cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese and serve immediately!
