Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 2 lbs beef stewing meat
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 6 medium potatoes (peeled and cubed)
  • 2 yellow onions (rough chopped)
  • 3 carrots (peeled and cut into chunks)
  • 2 turnips (peeled and cubed)
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 200 ml can diced tomatoes ((7 oz))
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 284 ml jar Patak's Vindaloo curry paste (use 1/2 the jar if you want less heat)
  • 2 cups water

Instruction

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet and brown the beef over high heat. Do not crowd the beef. Brown in batches if necessary.
  • Add all the stew ingredients to the slow cooker except the peas.
  • Mix all the sauce ingredients and pour over the stew.
  • Cook on low heat 7-8 hours. Add the peas 1 hour before serving.
  • Serve over rice if desired to reduce the spiciness.
