Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 5 cups apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup quick cooking oats
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ⅛ tsp baking powder
  • ⅛ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ cup melted butter

Instruction

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Peel, core and slice 5 apples.
  • Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch baking dish or a square baking dish.
  • Combine the white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of flour, cinnamon and nutmeg and sprinkle over apples. Stir together so that the sugar mixture is evenly distributed.
  • To make the crumble topping, combine the oats with 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together.
  • Use a fork to mix these ingredients together until they form a crumble.
  • Cover the apples with the crumble mixture.
  • Bake the apple crisp at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
  • Optional - serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
