Ingredients

The following ingredients have 8 Servings
  • 1 1/2 cups (195gr) flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup (180gr) dark brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup (150gr) white sugar
  • 1/3 cup (90gr) butter, soft
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups (400gr) peeled, chopped apple (Granny Smith) 
  • 3/4 cup (75gr) chopped walnuts

Instruction

  • Butter and flour a 10″ (25cm) cake or spring-form pan, line bottom with parchment
  • Preheat oven to 350F (175C)
  • Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt in a bowl, mix well and set aside.
  • Cream butter, vanilla and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
  • Add dry ingredients, beating on low until smooth.
  • Stir in apples and walnuts by hand.
  • Spread mixture into prepared pan. 
  • Bake, 50 – 55 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. 
  • Remove and cool for 20 minutes.
  • Remove sides if using a spring-form pan and serve or allow to cool completely.
