- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
- Salt and pepper
- 4 red onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 cup (250 ml) red wine
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried thyme
