Ingredients

The following ingredients have 8 Servings
  • 250 g unsalted butter
  • 2 cup caster sugar
  • 6 egg separated
  • 250 g dark chocolate cooled melted
  • 225 g almonds ground
  • 1 green apple grated peeled
  • 100 g dried breadcrumbs
  • 30 g plain flour
  • 300 ml cream whipped
  • 300 g dark chocolate
  • 30 g butter
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil

Instruction

  • Melt chocolate in a bowl over gently simmering water or in the microwave, cool.
  • Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
  • Add the egg yolks and then the cooled chocolate.
  • Add ground almonds, breadcrumbs, flour and grated apple.
  • Whip egg whites and fold in carefully but thoroughly.
  • Pour into a 25 cm tin, greased and lined.
  • Bake at 150C for approximately 1½ hours until firm to the touch in the middle and a skewer comes out clean.
  • Cool in tin for 5 minutes to firm up and turn onto a cake rack to cool.
  • Combine glaze ingredients over hot water or in microwave. Spread over cake.
