Ingredients

The following ingredients have 20 Servings
  • 185 g butter
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 1 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp mixed spice
  • 425 g canned pie apple
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instruction

  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.
  • Stir in sifted flour, cinnamon and mixed spice.
  • Spread half the cake mixture evenly over the base of a greased and floured 18 cm x 28 cm slice pan.
  • Spread well drained pie apple over cake mixture and sprinkle with extra sugar.
  • Spread the remaining cake mixture over the apple.
  • Bake at 180C for 50 minutes.
  • Allow to cool in pan and cut into squares.
