Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 /2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, (softened)
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs, (preferably pasteurized)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups Bisquick
- 3/4 cup milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for serving
Instruction
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Using an electric mixer, cream butter until light and fluffy.
- Add both sugar and beat until combined well.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl at least once.
- Beat in vanilla extract.
- Add flour mixture and mix just until incorporated.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Shape dough into balls using about 1 tablespoon for each one.
- Place on a parchment or wax paper lined tray and freeze for 1 hour.
- Pour about 2 inches of oil into a Dutch oven and heat to 350 degrees. I use a thermometer to make sure the oil stays at the right temperature.
- To make batter, whisk together Bisquick and milk in a medium bowl. If too thick, stir in a little extra milk.
- Dip about 4 balls into the batter at a time, leaving the remaining ones in freezer until needed.
- Fry until golden brown and remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining dough balls.
- Serve immediately or keep warm in a 200 degree oven.
