Ingredients

The following ingredients have 12 Servings
  • 1 1/2 cup plain flour sifted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbs white vinegar
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup water

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a round cake tin or a 12 hole muffin tin.
  • In a mixing bowl, place the sugar, then sift in the flour and cocoa. Place the bicarbonate of soda on top and add the vinegar, essence, salt, oil and water.
  • Using a balloon whisk, stir all ingredients until well combined. Do not over mix.
  • Pour mixture into cake tin or muffin trays. Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes or the muffins for 20 minutes.
