Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 slices allergy friendly bread ((I used BeFree's brown seed bread))
- 1/4 whole ripe (soft) avocado
- 2 Tablespoons artichoke bruschetta ((such as Terra Verde brand, Cara Mia, or Cucina & Amore))
- 3-4 slices thin sliced smoked ham lunchmeat ((or your favorite natural sliced deli meat))
- 1 slice Follow Your Heart dairy free Smoked Gouda cheese ((or your favorite dairy free sliced cheese))
- 1 Tablespoon Earth Balance Soy Free margarine
Instruction
- Heat up your grill for about 5-10 minutes, scrape your grill, then reduce the heat to medium/medium-low.
- Smash the avocado, then mix the artichoke spread into the avocado.
- Divide the avocado/artichoke mixture evenly between the 2 slices of bread and spread evenly.
- Add the natural sliced deli meat to the sandwich and top with the dairy free smoked gouda. Put the sandwich together.
- Spread a thin layer of Earth Balance Soy Free Margarine on the outside of each slice of bread on the sandwich (the sides that will be facing the grill).
- Grill the sandwich on indirect heat (away from heat source) for 2 minutes on each side to melt the cheese. Being careful as you turn it so you don't mess up your sandwich.
- Then cook for 1 minute on each side on direct heat (on the main grill grate) to crisp the bread.
- If you don't have a grill or prefer not to use one, you can grill this sandwich on a pan or griddle that's been heated over medium heat. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
