Ingredients

The following ingredients have 10 Servings
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 cup corn meal
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 egg yolks beaten
  • 10 hot dogs halved
  • 4 cups oil for frying
  • 1 pinch salt

Instruction

  • Cook hot dogs according to packet directions.
  • Mix flour, corn meal, sugar, salt and bicarbonate of soda.
  • Combine milk and yolks.
  • Dry hot dogs with a paper towel, then cut in half and insert skewers.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan or fryer.
  • Coat each hot dog in batter.
  • Hold hot dog by skewer and spin slowly in the hot oil.
  • Allow to cook for 5-6 minutes or until golden.
