Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 4 eggs room temperature separated
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 3/4 cup cornflour
- 1 tbs custard powder
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 200C.
- Grease 2 x 20 cm tins or a larger baking tin.
- Beat egg whites and salt together until firm.
- Gradually add the caster sugar. Beat well until sugar has dissolved.
- Add beaten egg yolks, and beat for 2 minutes.
- Fold in sifted dry ingredients and pour into baking tins.
- Reduce oven temperature to 190C and bake for 20-25 minutes on the centre shelf.
- Dredge cooled cake with icing sugar or cover with whipped cream and crumbled Flake.
