Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 8 oz firm tofu
- 2 Tablespoon soy paste
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste
- 1/4 Sichuan peppercorn powder or to taste
- 2 Tablespoon thinly sliced green onion
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instruction
- Place a kitchen towel on the counter and place the tofu on top. Put a heavy item, such as a small pot, on top of the tofu for one hour to squeeze out excess water.
- Soak bamboo skewers in water for at least 10 minutes. Take a metal steamer rack and brush olive oil onto the surface of the rack and put it inside the fryer basket.
- In a small bowl, prepare the sauce by mixing all the seasoning ingredients and set aside.
- Cut tofu into bite-size pieces and thread them on 2 skewers parallel to each other. Generously brush both sides of the tofu with a layer of the seasoning mixture and place the skewers on top of the steamer rack.
- Air fry at 400F (200C) for about 10-12 minutes, brushing more sauce in the middle if necessary, until the surface of the tofu is slightly caramelized.
- Sprinkle some sesame seeds and green onion to serve.
