Ingredients
The following ingredients have 7 Servings
- 2 medium yellow onions, (thinly sliced)
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 cup 100% apple juice (or chicken broth works)
- 4.5-6.5 pounds bone-in pork butt shoulder roast (or Boston butt) ((See Note 1))
- 2 tablespoons tightly packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon EACH: chili powder, paprika (sweet), garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons EACH: onion powder, dry mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- salt and pepper
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 cup + 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1-2 tablespoons canned chipotle chilies and surrounding adobo sauce
- salt and pepper
- brioche buns and softened butter
- coleslaw for serving, ((See Note 3))
