The following ingredients have 6 Servings
- 2 Pounds Dried Split Peas
- 64 Ounces Low-Sodium Chicken Broth
- 1 Pound Carrots (Diced)
- 1 Medium Yellow Onion (Peeled And Finely Diced)
- 1 Pound Ham (Diced)
- Salt And Pepper (To Taste)
Instruction
- Add split peas, chicken broth, carrots, onion and ham to a 5 quart or larger slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours until peas break down and soup becomes very thick.
- Add water to loosen, if necessary.
- To help peas break down, about 5 hours in, use a potato masher to break them up.
- Taste soup and season with salt and pepper if needed.
