Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 10 cups cored and chopped apples
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instruction

  • Place apple chunks in crock pot, and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the top. Cover and cook on high for 4 ½ hours, stirring occasionally.
  • After 4 ½ hours, remove lid, and stir. Continue cooking for 1 hour, uncovered.
  • Allow apple butter to cool slightly. For a chunky apple butter, it’s done. For a smooth apple butter, transfer to a blender and puree until smooth, or use an immersion blender.
  • Transfer apple butter to airtight containers, and store in refrigerator for up to two weeks or store in the freezer for up to 2 months.
