Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • 6.5 cups waxy potatoes
  • 2.5 cups cream (30% fat)
  • 1 clove garlic cloves
  • salt
  • freshly ground peppers
  • freshly grated Nutmeg
  • 0.75 cup grated Emmentaler cheese

Instruction

  • Peel wash and dry the potatoes. Slice very thinly and arrange in neat layers in four small buttered pans (or one large one).
  • Peel and finely chop the garlic and crush finely with a little salt. Bring the cream to the boil with the crushed garlic and season well with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour over the potatoes so that they are barely covered.
  • Sprinkle with cheese and bake in a preheated oven 400°F for about 40 minutes.
