Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1/4 pound Bacon (sliced into 1-inch strips)
- Three 14 1/2-ounce can whole Green Beans
- 1/4 Onion (peeled and chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper (to taste)
Instruction
- Place a 2-quart saucepan over medium high heat.
- Add bacon. Cook, stirring so it doesn't stick, until lightly browned, but not crisp.
- Add green beans and liquid.
- Add salt, sugar and pepper, Stir to mix.
- Scatter onion on top of green beans.
- Cover saucepan with a lid.
- Bring to a light boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- Taste. Add more salt and pepper, to taste, if needed.
- Serve hot.
