Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup Quick-Cooking Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ripe sliced banana (, divided)
  • 1/4 cup sliced or chopped toasted almonds (, divided)
  • 1/4 cup chopped semi-sweet chocolate (, divided)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (or vanilla almond milk) (, divided)

Instruction

  • In a medium pot, bring the almond milk and water to a boil. Add in the oats and salt; reduce heat to a gentle simmer (about medium-low), cover and cook for 6 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired doneness is achieved.
  • Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Divide into bowls, topped with some sliced banana, almonds, chocolate pieces, and a couple tablespoons heavy cream.
