Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 34 ounce canned yams (drained and sliced into 1/2-inch thick chunks)
  • 2 medium-sized apples (cored and sliced into sixteenths)
  • 1/3 cup pecans (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter (sliced)
  • parsley (for garnish)

Instruction

  • Using a mixing bowl, toss the apples, nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  • Alternate layers of apples and yams in a greased 1.5 quart casserole dish. I used yams for the bottom layer, then apples for the next layer, then yams for the next layer, and then apples for the top layer. Place slices of butter on top.
  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
