Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 egg yolk only (save the white for later)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Coating for cookies
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instruction

  • Mix the applesauce, egg yolk, honey, cinnamon and vanilla extract.
  • Add in the flour and mix until well combined.
  • The dough will be a bit sticky so roll it out onto a well floured surface and cut out what ever shapes you want for the cookies, making the dough about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Place all cut shapes onto parchment paper or non stick pan.
  • Re-roll the dough until all the dough is used up.
  • Mix the egg white and the 1/4 tsp of cinnamon very well in a separate small bowl.
  • Brush the tops of each cookie with the egg white mixture before baking.
  • Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. They are done when the tops start to lightly brown. Let cool and dry for 1 to 2 hours for crunchy cookies.
