Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • juice 1/2 lime
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup cilantro
  • 1/4 tsp coarse salt, more to taste

Instruction

  • Place the garlic clove in a food processor and pulse 4-5 times until it's minced. Add the jalapeños and pulse 4-5 more times. Add the garbanzo beans and process until they're smooth. Add the tahini, lime juice, olive oil, cilantro and salt; process until it's smooth and creamy.
  • The hummus will be thick (you may prefer it this way, especially if you're using it as a spread instead of a dip). If it's too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time, blending between each addition, until it's the perfect consistency.
