Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 40.00 ml olive oil
  • 2 brown onions chopped medium
  • 6 short-cut bacon rashers chopped
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 8 beef sausages crumbled skinned
  • 1/2 tsp hot paprika *optional
  • 30.00 ml dried oregano
  • 400 g canned crushed tomatoes with basil and oregano
  • 500 ml pasta sauce
  • 500 g pasta
  • 60.00 ml parmesan cheese *to serve

Instruction

  • Heat oil in a large saucepan, then add onion and bacon, and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for 8 minutes, or until starting to brown. Add garlic and crumbled sausages and cook for 10 minutes breaking the sausages up with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the paprika and oregano and stir well. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and the pasta sauce and bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Meanwhile, bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil. Add pasta and cook following packet directions. Drain and divide among serving bowls. Pour sauce over pasta and top with parmesan cheese.
