Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2/3 cup Oil
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup HOT Water
  • 1 cup Butter ((softened))
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons Cocoa
  • 3 3/4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Heavy Cream, Whole Milk, or Half-n-Half

Instruction

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Stir until combined. Fold in hot water. The cake batter will be thin and liquidy but that is how it is supposed to look.
  • Pour cake batter in lightly greased baking sheet (approximately 17 x 13). Bake for 16-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean (be careful not to overbake).
