Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Cocoa Krispies cereal (optional)
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped fine

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large glass bowl place chocolate and shortening and microwave for a few minutes until the two ingredients melt together. Use a wooden spoon and stir.
  • Add sugar and stir to combine. Add eggs and stir to combine. Add salt, flour and vanilla and stir to combine. Add optional Cocoa Krispies and stir to combine.
  • Butter and flour a quarter sheet pan (9×13-inch) and spread batter to all edges and smooth on top.
  • Sprinkle with the nuts and bake for 15-18 minutes until the center has a tooth pick come out clean when inserted.
  • Cut into 24 pieces right in the pan then once cool, use a spatula and move to a rack to cool further.
