Ingredients

The following ingredients have 1 Servings
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (28 grams) (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed, light or dark is fine)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk (discard the white)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour (47 grams) (equivalent to 1/4 cup plus 2 extra tablespoons)
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (divided)

Instruction

  • Preheat the oven to 350F (180C) degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until the butter no longer looks separate.
  • Whisk in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Whisk in the flour and baking soda.
  • Stir in 3 tablespoons of chocolate chips. There will be 1 tablespoon remaining.
  • Form the dough into a ball about 3/4 - 1 inch thick.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the top looks golden brown. Remove from the oven and place a few extra chocolate chips on top of the warm cookie.
