Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 125 g butter
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 1 tbs golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 tbs cocoa powder
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbs cocoa powder
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp hot water

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a 20 cm square or round shaped tin.
  • Line base of tin with greased waxed paper.
  • Beat butter, sugar and eggs until smooth and creamy. Stir in golden syrup and vanilla essence.
  • Beat in the milk. Sift in the flour and cocoa. Then beat until combined.
  • Spread evenly in the prepared tin. Bake for 45-55 minutes.
  • Allow to cool for 10-17 minutes.
  • Beat icing ingredients together, then ice cake.
