Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks, room temperature)
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups mashed bananas (about 2-3 very ripe bananas)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sour milk (put 1 tbsp. of vinegar in 3/4 measuring cup, fill remaining with milk up to 3/4 mark)
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk or half & half
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 pounds powdered sugar (about 5 1/4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Add butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl and cream together until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and beat again.
  • Mix in banana and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add flour mixture to butter mixture in 3 parts, alternately with sour milk. Begin and end with flour.
  • Spread in a lightly greased 9"x13" baking dish
  • Bake in oven about 33-40 minutes, until cooked through and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
