Ingredients
The following ingredients have 5 Servings
- 90 g (3 oz) oats
- 1/2 red (bell pepper sliced)
- 1 red onion sliced
- 1 to mato sliced
- 1 tsp smoked chipotle paste
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 handfuls chopped coriander (cilantro)
- 450 g (1lb) cooked black beans
- 1 handful of chopped roasted cashews (optional)
- Oil (for frying)
- Burger baps (optional)
- Toppings such as red onions (salad, tomatoes, chipotle ketchup etc)
Instruction
- Blend all the burger ingredients excluding the beans and cashews.
- Then add in beans and process to the coarseness you prefer.
- Add in the cashews if using and then mould into burger shapes - they will be a little wet.
- Freeze the shaped burgers for a couple of hrs.
- Heat the frying pan with a dribble of oil.
- Then fry on low heat for about 5-7 mins.
- Flip and cook on the other side on medium heat until cooked (5-7)
- Serve with onions, salad green, tomatoes, burger sauces and sweet potato fries.
