Ingredients
The following ingredients have 10 Servings
- 3 black tea bags
- 4 star anise
- 1/2 tsp Sichuan pepper
- 1 1/2 kg pork ribs
- 4.00 tbs light soy sauce
- 1 hoisin sauce
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tbs honey
- 2 tbs oyster sauce
- 2 tbs sherry
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 1/2 tbs gravy powder
Instruction
- Pork belly ribs: Fill a saucepan ¾ full with water. Add tea bags or Chinese tea, star anise and Sichuan pepper.
- Boil for 15 minutes, then add pork belly ribs. Bring back to the boil and simmer for a further 15 minutes.
- Remove ribs and cut to bite-sized bits, then remove solids from water.
- Place cut pork into a baking dish and pour over sauce.
- Place in preheated oven and bake at 180C for 30 minutes, stirring once to cover ribs in sauce.
- Sauce: In a bowl mix all sauce ingredients together. Stir in one cup of tea water the ribs simmered in and mix well.
