Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion (diced (medium-sized))
  • 1/2 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder ((plus more to taste))
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 can red kidney beans (do not drain (16-ounces))

Instruction

  • In a large pot, cook beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic over medium-high heat for about 8 minutes. Stir occasionally until beef is brown; drain and return to heat.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients except for the beans. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in beans. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until desired thickness is reached.
