  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup orange juice ((fresh or bottled is fine))
  • ¼ cup lower-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grated, peeled fresh ginger (or 1 teaspoon dried ground ginger)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 3 teaspoons bottled minced garlic)
  • ¼ cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Optional, for serving: sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds
