Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 small green chili chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander or parsley
  • 1 chicken breast or 1 cup boneless chicken
  • 200 gm button mushrooms cut into medium size chunks
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 100 ml milk or cream
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper crushed
  • What You Need For the Crust:
  • 1 and half cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 rd cup butter
  • Salt
  • Luke warm water to knead tight dough

Instruction

  • Start with making the sauce or cream. Heat butter in a non-stick pan.
  • Add all purpose flour and sauté it till a nice aroma comes out. This will take about a minute or so.
  • Add milk to it and cook on simmer till milk turns thick. Add black pepper and mix well. Don’t add salt to the sauce at this moment.
  • Next heat oil in a pan. Add onions, garlic, green chili and saute till onion turns pink.
  • Add chicken cubes and saute till it turns white
  • Salt to taste
  • Add mushrooms and salt to taste.
  • Let it simmer in low heat.
  • Add the sauce made above and heat the filling till the sauce reduces considerably. We have a thick filling ready now. Switch off the flame and let it cool down completely.
  • For the crust : Add water little by little and knead strong tough dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Take a tart tin.
  • Take a big portion of dough and press it against the sides and bottom of pan. Prick with a fork at regular intervals.
  • Fill the tart tray with mushroom and chicken filling made above.
  • Take the remaining portion of the dough and roll to a thin sheet. Place above the filling and fill from all sides.
  • Wash the top with egg white. Ornament with any pattern you like.
  • Remove any extras. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes at 180 degree centigrade.
  • The Tart is ready to be enjoyed.
