Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 to 2 Tablespoons Oil
- 1 large Onion ((finely diced))
- 2 lbs. Chicken Breast ((cut into pieces))
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 12 ounces Dr. Pepper ((or Coke or Root Beer))
- (2) 14.5 ounce cans Tomato Sauce ((plain))
- (2) 14.5 ounce cans Chili Beans
- (1) 14.5 ounce can Petite Diced Tomatoes
- (1) 7-ounce can Green Chilies ((chopped))
- 3 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Ranch Dressing Powder
- 1 to 2 teaspoons Garlic Salt ((start with 1 tsp))
Instruction
- Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add oil. Add onions and cook for about 5 minutes or until onions begin to soften.
- Add chicken and saute until no longer pink, about 6-7 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add Dr. Pepper.
- Stir in tomato sauce, chili beans, diced tomatoes, green chilies, taco seasoning, chili powder, ranch powder, and garlic salt.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for at least 15 minutes on medium-low heat.
- Serve with Mexican cheese, tortilla strips, fresh avocado, sour cream or Mexican crema, cilantro, jalapeno, and fresh lime.
