Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2/3 cup butter (room temperature)
- 1 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1/4 cup butter (room temperature)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and molasses using an electric mixer.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in the flour, ginger, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- Use a rubber spatula to spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- To make the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Spread frosting over the cooled bars and serve.
- Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
