Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 whole egg
- 1 cup fresh cherries (, pitted, quartered)
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease doughnut pan with cooking spray; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- Place milk, butter, white vinegar, vanilla, and egg in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a whisk until butter melts, about one minute. Remove from heat.
- Add milk mixture to flour mixture; whisk until combined.
- Gently fold in cherries.
- Spoon the mixture into prepared doughnut pan. (You may have to do this in batches if your doughnut pan is with fewer than 12 cavities)
- Bake for 13 to 14 minutes, or until doughnuts begin to pull away from pan.
- Remove and let sit for one minute.
- Run a knife around the edges and invert the pan onto a cooling rack.
- While they are cooling, make the vanilla glaze (optional)
