Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 1 pound pitted fresh cherries
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk (whole recommended)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- Confectioners sugar for topping
Instruction
- Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter a 2-quart baking dish.
- Place cherries in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Whisk eggs in a large bowl.
- Add sugar and whisk until mixture thickens and becomes lighter in color (pale yellow), about 5 minutes.
- Add milk and vanilla. Whisk until combined.
- Add flour and salt. Whisk until combined.
- Pour mixture over cherries.
- Bake 45 minutes, or until edges are puffed and center bounces back lightly when pressed.
- Cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Dust top with confectioners sugar just prior to serving.
