Ingredients

The following ingredients have 8 Servings
  • 1 pound pitted fresh cherries
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk (whole recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Confectioners sugar for topping

Instruction

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Place cherries in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Whisk eggs in a large bowl.
  • Add sugar and whisk until mixture thickens and becomes lighter in color (pale yellow), about 5 minutes.
  • Add milk and vanilla. Whisk until combined.
  • Add flour and salt. Whisk until combined.
  • Pour mixture over cherries.
  • Bake 45 minutes, or until edges are puffed and center bounces back lightly when pressed.
  • Cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  • Dust top with confectioners sugar just prior to serving.
