Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 lb Hot Italian sausage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 green bell peppers, (diced)
- 1 large onion, (diced)
- 4 cloves garlic, (minced)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 6 oz can tomato paste
- 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
- 10 oz can Rotel®
- 4 cups beef broth
- 16 oz large elbow macaroni
- 16 oz block Mozzarella cheese, (shredded)
Instruction
- In a large dutch oven over medium heat, melt butter and cook sausage links until browned on all sides (will still be pink inside).
- Once sausage has browned, remove from pan and slice into ½ inch thick pieces, then return to pan.
- Add ground beef, bell pepper, onions and garlic.
- Cook until meat is no longer pink and onions are translucent. Drain grease and return to pan.
- Sprinkle oregano, basil, salt and pepper over meat, stir.
- Pour tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes and Rotel® into pan, stir. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Next, add beef broth and pasta, stir and continue cooking until pasta is tender.
- Remove from heat and add shredded cheese, stir until cheese has melted.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
