Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 lb Hot Italian sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 green bell peppers, (diced)
  • 1 large onion, (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic, (minced)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 10 oz can Rotel®
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 16 oz large elbow macaroni
  • 16 oz block Mozzarella cheese, (shredded)

Instruction

  • In a large dutch oven over medium heat, melt butter and cook sausage links until browned on all sides (will still be pink inside).
  • Once sausage has browned, remove from pan and slice into ½ inch thick pieces, then return to pan.
  • Add ground beef, bell pepper, onions and garlic.
  • Cook until meat is no longer pink and onions are translucent. Drain grease and return to pan.
  • Sprinkle oregano, basil, salt and pepper over meat, stir.
  • Pour tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes and Rotel® into pan, stir. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Next, add beef broth and pasta, stir and continue cooking until pasta is tender.
  • Remove from heat and add shredded cheese, stir until cheese has melted.
  • Serve hot and enjoy.
