Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 310 g self-raising flour
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 2 tsp dried parsley flaked
  • 1 tsp dried chives
  • 250 g tasty cheese grated
  • 2 bacon rashers cooked diced
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 180C.
  • Combine flour with cubed butter in a bowl, rub together with fingers to create coarse breadcrumb consistency.
  • Stir in parsley, chives, cheese and bacon.
  • In separate bowl, combine egg and milk. Stir egg mixture into dry ingredients and mix to a soft dough.
  • Turn onto lightly floured board and knead lightly. Form into a cob loaf.
  • Place loaf onto baking tray lined with grease-proof paper.
  • Cut a deep cross into loaf, brush with milk. Bake for 30 minutes or until risen and golden.
